The theme of Peace

The dictionary defines peace as freedom from war and violence, especially when people live and work together happily without disagreements. It’s taken from the Old French word “pais”, itself taken from the Latin word “pax” or “pac-“

However, as the Dalai Lama said : “World peace must develop from inner peace. Peace is not just mere absence of violence. Peace is, I think, the manifestation of human compassion.”

This is all about the connection between the world peace and the inner peace within each human being. And as the Dalai Lama also said on this matter: “We can never obtain peace in the world if we neglect the inner world and don’t make peace with ourselves. World peace must develop out of inner peace.”

This is the key to world peace…

The Dalai Lama does indeed sum up an important part of our vision for the theme of peace in this first season. We strongly believe that world peace and inner peace are two sides of the same coin. We can not seek the first without the second. Seeking inner peace consists of first understanding (for each one of us) the real reasons of our aspirations, desires and needs, and then, undertaking to find an answer to these reasons, in the most complete way possible. It is about moving beyond inner conflicts, peculiar to each human being, which naturally lead to the surpassing of external conflicts between poeple and the communities all of them form.

This work will be undertaken by “8 ANgry Women”, each one helping the other in this quest throughout their amazing interior journey with the aim to find a path to peace to the israeli-palestinian conflict. But it is not everything… This vision for peace will even go much further and mean something much deeper, but you’ll have to wait to see the movie!

The City of Jerusalem

“What makes the Jerusalem issue so complex is the fact that, the current nationalistic dispute for the city, takes place on the background of an ancient and bloody religious competition between Judaism, Christianity and Islam. To understand how deep is this nationalistic conflict is necessary to grasp the meaning of the religious one. For this reason, Jerusalem is the symbol of a conflict that has no equal in the world. Because, as none conflict in the world, encloses in itself, interest, feelings, geoplitic and simbology, in a timeless dimension. ”, said Umberto De Giovannangeli (Italian journalist).

But at the same time, and for this same reason, Jerusalem represents peace and the hope to achieve peace. It is in Jerusalem where Judaism Christianity and Islam built the amazing beliefs in peace through the wisdom and understanding of God.

We are deeply convinced that the uniqueness of this conflict will make the “8 ANgry Women” film documentary be an extraordinary inspiration for many other conflcts in the world, beyond Jerusalem and the israeli-palestinian conflict.
